HYDERABAD —

Tata Advanced Systems has inaugurated a ₹12,000 crore aerospace components manufacturing complex outside Hyderabad, describing it as India's most advanced facility for producing airframe structures, aeroengine casings, and avionics integration systems for both domestic defence programmes and global original equipment manufacturer supply chains.

The facility, spread across 250 acres of the Hyderabad Aerospace SEZ, will manufacture components for the Indian Air Force's Light Combat Aircraft Mk2 programme, the Naval utility helicopter project, and as a Tier-1 supplier to Airbus and Boeing commercial aircraft programmes.

Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaran described aerospace as a "generational opportunity" for India, noting that global aerospace supply chains are actively seeking to diversify away from their current concentration in Western Europe and North America.

The complex will employ 8,000 engineers and skilled technicians at full operation, with a target of 3,200 jobs in the first two years as training programmes ramp up. The company is partnering with IIT Hyderabad and the NAL to develop locally trained aerospace manufacturing talent.
