AHMEDABAD —

Mumbai Indians claimed a record sixth Indian Premier League title with a dramatic five-run victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a final that produced 388 runs, five sixes in the last two overs, and an atmosphere at the Narendra Modi Stadium that the organisers described as the loudest in IPL history.

Rohit Sharma's 89 from 52 balls — his first IPL final fifty in nine years — provided Mumbai with a total of 197. Royal Challengers Bengaluru reached 191/8, falling five short after Jofra Archer defended 18 runs in the final over, taking two wickets and conceding only three from his last four deliveries.

The final was watched by an estimated 450 million viewers across television and streaming platforms globally, with significant audiences reported from the Caribbean, United Kingdom, and South Africa reflecting IPL's expansion as the world's most-watched cricket product.

Hardik Pandya was named Player of the Tournament for an all-round campaign that included 42 wickets — a record for any single IPL season — and 476 runs across 16 innings.
